With your help we can continue to provide a lifeline for children affected by parental alcohol problems.

Fundraise for us and with your help we can continue to provide a lifeline for children affected by parental alcohol problems.

This important work is funded entirely by voluntary donations. We simply would not be here for the children who need us if it were not for our supporters. Together we can make a difference.

Fundraising doesn’t need to be difficult and with a little bit of imagination, it can be really fun too!

Here you can find some great fundraising ideas to help raise money for Nacoa. Whether you bake a cake, host a party or climb a mountain; there’s something for everyone. You really can do anything you want. Take a look at our suggestions or come up with an idea of your own. Every penny raised truly does count.

We are always looking for volunteers to organise events to help raise funds and awareness for Nacoa. This can be done as individuals or in groups across the UK.

There are many ways to get involved and raise funds for Nacoa. Here are some ideas:

An auction – silent or promises, art exhibition, barn dance, black tie ball, BBQ, bingo, bridge morning, bag pack at a supermarket, cake sale, car boot/garage/jumble sale, car wash, carol singing, Christmas card sale, clothes swap, coffee morning, concert, disco, dog walking, dress down or non-uniform day, Easter egg hunt, fashion show, film showing or DVD night, face painting, garden party or open day in your garden, indoor games evening, massage or beauty day, quiz, raffle, race night, swear box, talent contest, teddy bears picnic, tug-o-war, sports tournament or sports day, wine tasting, welly-wanging to name but a few!

Why not ‘make a meal of it’ and see if your local restaurant would hold a charity night for you, donating a percentage of the profits to Nacoa.

Sponsored events

When many people think of taking part in a sponsored event, they think of extreme sporting activities such as running marathons. However, you can get people to sponsor you for all sorts of challenges like shaving your head, having a bath in baked beans, losing weight, giving up alcohol, chocolate or TV or a sponsored silence. And of course there are all the adventurous things too like climbing a mountain or doing a bungee or parachute jump. For ideas and support to get you going see Sponsored events.

Nominate Nacoa for charity schemes

Most workplaces have a charity scheme where fundraising activities benefit a specific charity. If you are an employee, please ask your employer to nominate Nacoa as your charity of the year. We can happily help you with wording to assist your nomination or come and discuss the benefits with them.

Other places you may be able to nominate Nacoa to be a chosen charity include your school, college or university; sports and social clubs; supermarkets, banks and other shops. Sometimes they have nomination forms you can complete in store.

Collecting boxes

You could also keep a jar or collecting box in your school, work place, local shop, pub, or community centre etc. A collecting box on your desk can help relieve your friends and colleagues of their loose change! Small change can quickly add up and every penny makes a difference.

Other ways to raise money

You can also raise money for free as you search and shop online, by selling unwanted goods on eBay and by recycling old printer cartridges, mobile phones and even your car.
